A new Vande Bharat Express train that connects Silchar, Assam, with Agartala, the capital of Tripura, is shortly to benefit the Northeastern area of India. For residents of these states, this new service will greatly increase connection, cut down on travel times, and make travel more comfortable. The government’s dedication to enhancing Northeastern infrastructure and facilitating faster and simpler travel for its citizens is demonstrated by the opening of this new Vande Bharat train. In Northeast India, this will be the second Vande Bharat Express train to be introduced. A Vande Bharat Express between Guwahati, Assam, and New Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, was introduced last year. Because it cut down on travel time and offered a contemporary, opulent experience, the train immediately gained popularity among tourists visiting the northeastern states. The Northeast’s rail network will now be further strengthened with the proposed Silchar-Agartala route, which would connect important cities in the area.
The new Vande Bharat Express train’s required infrastructure is nearly finished. Essential work, including electrifying train lines, is anticipated to be completed by December, according to the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), which serves this area. The new Vande Bharat Express, which is renowned for its high-speed and high-tech design, depends on this step to operate safely and effectively. 64% of the NFR’s railway network is already electrified, according to Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, the organization’s chief public relations officer. 2,708.52 kilometers of the network’s 4,260.52 total route kilometers have been electrified. This is a component of a larger objective to electrify all broad-gauge railroads in the Northeast and reach net zero carbon emissions. As part of the government’s plan for a more environmentally friendly and effective railway system, electrification projects are moving forward in a number of northeastern states, including Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Tripura.
