West Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose praised the Union government on Tuesday for introducing new Vande Bharat trains in West Bengal. He also praised the ‘double engine’ governments, calling Indian railways a ‘symbol of change’ in the country.

“The Indian Railways is the symbol of change for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. The reason for saying this is simple, the ‘double engine’ government has been accepted extensively,” the Governor said.

Praising the inauguration of new Vande Bharat trains in West Bengal, he said, “Indian railways is one of the most genuine and different railway networks. It connects every corner of the country. Modi Sarkar has introduced many trains in Bengal, including Vande Bharat trains. You also know that it is a semi-high speed train. For that, the people of Bengal are really thankful for the Prime Minister.”The governor further said that the Prime Minister has brought a lot of things ‘on track’ for Indians.

“The Prime Minister has gotten a lot of things on track, the economy is on track, India’s self confidence, national unity, global prestige, prestige, social harmony and peace, all of it is on track,” he added.

He also thanked Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for working on India’s progress.

“There is no need to look back anymore. Union Minister of Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, through Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown the discipline for India’s progress,” he added.

Earlier, on September 15, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually flagged off the trains from Tatanagar in Jharkhand, West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary and MLA Agnimitra Paul was at Asansol station physically and flagged off the Vande Bharat train.

Later interacting with media, Agnimitra referred to the Make in India logo that has a Lion ‘Make in India’ written on it, making her feel proud.

“It is a matter of great happiness for us. Today the people of Asansol have got the second Vande Bharat train…When we read Make in India, our heart fills with pride. Not just trains look at shipping, Airports, and stations were getting modernised. The way PM is doing infrastructural development very soon we are going to become the third largest economy in the world…We also want to thank Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav,” she said.

Notably, Six more Vande Bharat trains entered the Indian Railways fleet. The trains will improve the connectivity on Tatanagar – Patna, Bhagalpur – Dumka – Howrah, Brahmapur – Tatanagar, Gaya – Howrah, Deoghar -Varanasi, and Rourkela – Howrah routes.

The introduction of these Vande Bharat Express trains will benefit regular travellers, professionals, business and student community. These trains will boost religious tourism in the region by providing faster mode of commute to the pilgrimage sites like Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar (Jharkhand), Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), Kalighat, Belur Math in Kolkata (West Bengal) etc.
