35th All India Railway Protection Force Wrestling Competition concludes

The closing and prize distribution ceremony of the 35th All India Railway Protection Force Wrestling Competition held at Jabalpur Railway Stadium.

Two final matches were played in the dignified presence of Chief Guest General Manager of Railway Shobhana Bandopadhyaya, Additional General Manager RS Saxena, Inspector General/RPF Ajay Sadani, Divisional Railway Manager Vivek Sheel, Deputy Inspector General Shri Rajneesh Kumar Tripathi, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner Md. Munnawar Khan and other senior railway officials. Prizes were distributed to the winning players who performed well in the entire competition. March past was done by the players.

On this occasion, General Manager Bandopadhyay congratulated all the teams for their excellent performance and said that sports is an integral part of human life, which makes all of us physically and mentally strong.

Organizing sports also proves helpful in establishing social unity. Chief Guest Shobhana Bandopadhyaya released balloons symbolizing peace into the sky and concluded the 35th All India Railway Protection Force Wrestling Competition 2024 with grand fireworks.

West Central Railway became the winner in 61 kg weight category: -The final match of the 61 kg weight category of men’s category was played between wrestler Shivman (West Central Railway) and wrestler Vanwari (Railway Protection Special Force) in which wrestler Shivman defeated Vanwari 07/06 and won the gold medal. The women’s category match was played in which wrestler Shivani (North Western Railway) defeated wrestler Kavita (North Western Railway) 12/04 and won the gold medal. In the competition, North Railway secured first place with 22 points, Railway Protection Special Force secured second place with 20 points and North Eastern Railway secured third place with 07 points. Richpal Singh, Ravindra Kumar, Amit Kumar, Shivkumar Yadav and Gagan Chakraborty played the role of referee in these competitions.

Names of the players who won during the 35th All India Railway Protection Force Wrestling Competition 2024:-Women’s Category:-

1) All kg weight category (freestyle) – Shivani (North Western Railway) got first place and Kavita (North Western Railway) got second place.

Men’s Category:-

1) 57 kg weight category (freestyle) – Nivas Singh (Railway Protection Special Force) got first place.2) 61 kg weight category (freestyle) Shivaman (West Central Railway) got first place, Vanwari (Railway Protection Special Force) got second place and Surendra Singh (Railway Protection Special Force) got third place.3) 65 kg weight category (freestyle) Lokesh (Railway Protection Special Force) got first place and Amit (Railway Protection Special Force) got second place.4) 70 Kg Weight Category (Freestyle) – Naveen (Northern Railway) got first place, Naveen (Railway Protection Special Force) got second place, Pritam (Railway Protection Special Force) and Rajiv Gond (North Eastern Railway) got third place.5) 74 Kg Weight Category (Freestyle) Naveen (Northern Railway) got first place, Rishi (Railway Protection Special Force) got second place and Yudhishthir (Northern Railway) and Raju Yadav (North Eastern Railway) got third place.6) 79 Kg Weight Category (Freestyle) – Jagmender (Railway Protection Special Force) got first place, Rishi (Railway Protection Special Force) got second place and Ravikumar (Northern Railway) and Ashish (Northern Railway) got third place.7) 86 Kg Weight Category (Freestyle) – Nahar Dev Yadav (North Eastern Railway) got first place, Dinesh (Railway Protection Special Force) got second place and Dharmendra (Northern Railway) and Sajjan Singh (Railway Protection Special Force) got third place.8) 92 kg weight category (freestyle) Anil (Northern Railway) got first place, Dada Jadhav (Central Railway) got second place, Amit and Vineet Malik (Northern Railway) got third place.
