Indian Railways to run special trains for Holi – Check route, timing, full list here

On the occasion of the festival of colors, Holi, the North Division of Indian Railways has announced plans to run over 15 special trains to accommodate the festive rush. Additionally, the Central Railway has notified the operation of 112 Holi special train services throughout March.

As the festival approaches, Indian Railways recently released the schedules and routes for these Holi Special Trains. The services of special trains will connect prominent cities such as Patna, Gaya, Katra, Varanasi, Saharanpur, Saharsa, and Ambala to various regions of the country. 

The train passengers need to note that as many as six special trains are scheduled to depart from the national capital for the convenience of passengers during the festive season.

Central Railways to run 112 special trains

Central Railway has announced the operation of 112 special trains for Holi to cater to the increased passenger traffic during the festival season this month. These include several services such as LTT Mumbai-Banaras Weekly Specials (6 services), LTT Mumbai-Danapur Bi-Weekly Superfast Specials (6 services), LTT Mumbai-Samastipur Weekly Superfast Specials (4 services), LTT Mumbai-Prayagraj Weekly Superfast AC Specials (8 services), and LTT Mumbai-Thivim Weekly AC Specials (6 services).

List of Holi special trains with number, date and route

Train number 04033 is scheduled to depart from New Delhi on March 22 and 29, operating between New Delhi and Udhampur. Meanwhile, train number 04034 will make stops at Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana Cantt, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, and Jammu Tawi. This train will depart from Udhampur to New Delhi on March 23 and 30.

A special train bound for Vaishno Devi will run bi-weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays, departing from New Delhi between March 24 and 31. On its return journey, the train will operate on Thursdays and Mondays from March 25 to April 1.

Trains from Delhi to Varanasi will be operational between March 21 and 30, running on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Conversely, trains from Varanasi to Delhi will run from March 22 to 31, operating on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

A Holi special train from Katra to Varanasi will run once a week, departing from Katra on Sundays and returning from Varanasi on Tuesdays.

Special trains from Howrah to Varanasi will run on March 23, stopping at stations including Durgapur, Asansol, Bakhtiyarpur, Patna, Arrah, Buxar, Deendayal Upadhyay Junction, and Varanasi.

Additionally, from March 21 to 24, a Holi special train will depart from Delhi, making stops at Tundla, Panipat, and Agra.
