Devotees of Indore, who’d like to visit Ayodhya, have now got a new means to worship Lord Rama. The Western Railways has kicked off a special train, running from Indore to Ayodhya and back, that will operate every Saturday. Running once every week, the train will take about 23 hours and 10 minutes to reach its destination.

Train no 09309 Indore-Ayodhya Dham-Indore Aastha Special will commence its operations on February 10 from Indore and return to the city from Ayodhya on February 12.

The Aastha Special is scheduled for February 10, 17 and 24 from Indore, while the return journeys will be covered on February 12, 19 and 26. The train will have major stops at Ratlam, Ujjain, Bairagarh (Sant Hirdaram Nagar) of Bhopal, Bina and Jhansi railway stations and the journey distance by 093909 train will be about 1,118 kilometres long. The 22-coach Aastha Special includes 20 sleeper and two SLR class coaches.

With an average speed of 48 km per hour, Aastha Special will leave from Indore at 1 PM on Saturday and reach Ayodhya Dham at 12:10 PM on Sunday. During the return train, with 50 km/hr speed, it will depart at 9:50 PM on Monday and arrive in Indore at 8:05 PM on Tuesday (making it 22 hours and 15 minutes long).
