In a major relief, the Ministry of Railways has decided to extend the facility to book unreserved tickets on UTSONMOBILE app.
As per the latest decision, unreserved tickets on UTSONMOBILE app can be booked from a distance of up to 20 km for non-suburban sections.
For suburban areas, the distance has been enhanced to 5 km. Earlier, unreserved ticket booking system UTSONMOBILE app allowed passengers in non-suburban sections to book a ticket from upto 5 km. For the suburban section, the distance restriction for booking tickets through UTSONMOBILE was 2 km.
On November 7, the Railway Board had issued new instructions to all zones in view of the long-standing demands of commuters travelling in general coaches of daily passenger trains and distance trains.
As per official sources, the UTS mobile app allows booking of season tickets, monthly passes and platform tickets. The mobile app works perfect on smartphones with Android, IOS and Windows versions of operating system and can be downloaded free of cost.
