NEW DELHI, INDIA : Even before completing India’s first high-speed bullet train project from Mumbai-Ahmedabad, the Ministry of Railways has thrown seven more bullet train projects, including the one between New Delhi to Ayodhya and the PM’s constituency of Varanasi.
The senior railway official reiterated that just like China, India also wants to run on the Chinese lines by connecting all its major cities with high-speed bullet trains. With the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project, Mumbaikars will also get a direct linkage to the industrial city of Nagpur. A team of experts from the National High-Speed Rail Corporation is also preparing the DPR of the 766 Km route of the same project.
As per Railway authorities, the preliminary surveys for the feasibility of the corridor have been completed. Moreover, the Ministry has also clarified that connecting Varanasi to New Delhi with High-Speed Bullet Train would be their priority project.
Sushma Gaur, additional General Manager Public Relations, National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited, confirmed that the Railway ministry had given the responsibility of creating DPR’s for the seven new Bullet Train Projects to NHSRCL. The New Delhi-Varanasi (including Ayodhya) is one of the seven proposed high-speed bullet train projects.
Proposed New Bullet Train projects are:
- Delhi-Varanasi (including Ayodhya)
- Delhi-Ahmedabad (866 Km)
- Mumbai-Nagpur (740Km)
- Varanasi-Howrah (760 Km)
- Chennai-Mysore (435Km)
- Delhi-Amritsar (459Km)
- Mumbai-Hyderabad (711Km)
